SLAMpeg 1960: Hiroyo Matsumoto vs Mia Yim

Nikki Roxx referees this contest between two world-traveled competitors. Mia and Hiroyo have met twice in Japan, and both times, Hiroyo came away the victor. Mia is eager to get a victory here. Two collar and elbow tie-ups go nowhere before Hiroyo gets the leverage on a test of strength. Mia amazingly powers out and breaks the test, leading to a stalemate. Finally, Mia gets on top with an arm wrench reversal, 3 quick armdrags and a Dropkick, but Hiroyo puts a stop to Mia's run with a big, dirty eye rake.

Taking control, Hiroyo works Mia through every corner in turn with chops. A double kneedrop leads to Hiroyo evilly pulling on Mia's hair. Hiroyo even tosses Mia across the ring with that hair-hold! Mia tries desperately to fight back and get back into the match with forearms. Hiroyo cuts her off again with a big slap and a boot choke on the ropes. Mia refuses to submit in a hair-assisted Camel Clutch and a frustrated Hiroyo whips Mia into the corner. That proves to be a mistake. Mia dives out of the way of a big corner splash that has Hiroyo stunned!

Forearms, kicks, a Clothesline and another Dropkick all floor Hiroyo as Mia builds momentum. She caps it off with an impressive Suplex that gets a near fall! Mia declares her hair is better (even stomping on Hiroyo's locks!) before quickly ascending the turnbuckles for a possible Moonsault - but Hiroyo cuts her off and leaves Mia awkwardly sitting on the middle rope. With her back exposed, Mia is an easy target for Hiroyo's corner splash. A Sidewalk Slam has Mia in a bad way with Hiroyo looking to end it with her Argentine Backbreaker. Can Mia fight out and get her first win over Hiroyo? Or will Hiroyo take another victory?
