SLAMpeg 3175: April Hunter vs Marti Belle

A Best of 5 Manchester Marathon matchup.

The two jockey for position and advantage in the first fall, battling on the mat and against the ropes. Marti wins the first fall via disqualification, but April beats Marti literally from pillar to post, pounding her on the mat in the second fall. But once again, she refuses to break an illegal hold and Marti takes a 2-0 lead due to another DQ.

The two take to the mat in the third fall, with bodyscissors and attempted pinfalls galore. April finally forces Marti to tap to a submission hold on the mat to narrow the gap to 2-1. A vicious bodyscissors takes most of the fight out of Marti in the fourth fall, and a Bearhug later, April drops an exhausted Marti to the mat and scores the three count to tie the count at 2-2.

Through nearly 45 minutes of action, April and Marti battle in a match that puts the power, technical know-how, and technique of both wrestlers on full display. Battered and worn down by her bigger, stronger opponent, Marti searches for an opening in the final fall to steal the victory.

Does she have enough to win the Marathon, or will April stop her just shy of the finish line?
