SLAMpeg 2177: Mercedes Martinez vs Mia Yim

Why Mia allows someone with Mercedes’ heel potential to talk her into wrestling barefoot, we’ll never know. But alas the two combatants go at it bootless and the action is very competitive, clean and balanced. Chain wrestling with a transition into corner work, both trying to gain the upper hand. Mercedes slowly takes the advantage and works over Mia with stomps, armbars, and some hairpulls.

Mia gets back on her (bare) feet though and locks Mercedes into a brutal Anklelock, followed by a Figure Four that has her screaming. This one breaks down into a brutal exchange of blows to the chest and full on kicks to the midsection. A Figure Four Headlock/ stomach claw combo, a Boston Crab, a Rocking Horse hold and finally an MMA style choke has one lady desperately tapping her opponent’s thigh.
